Los Angeles, CA, United States (CNS) – Jon Gosselin has finally accepted that no one wants to see him on TV. After numerous attempts to stay in the limelight, the former “Jon and Kate Plus 8″ star has landed a real job outside show business.

A source told Pop Eater, “Jon is very close with Jill Zarin from ‘Real Housewives of New York.’ It was Jill who told Jon to stay out of the spotlight and get himself a real job. Fame is fun but doesn’t pay the bills.”

And as a result, he is now “in a great place” with a new girlfriend. He is also able to see his sextuplets and twins three to four times a week.

Another insider said, “He is happy and knows what a fool he made of himself after his split from Kate. He has been getting a lot of TV offers, including interest from ‘Dancing with the Stars,’ and has turned them all down. If he never sees a TV camera again in his life it will be too soon.”

Unfortunately, not everyone can disappear from television just as easily. While Jon has apparently accepted that people don’t like to see him on TV, his ex-wife Kate Gosselin still has the grand illusion that she has a place on the spotlight.

Kate’s shows are consistently in the top 10 for TLC, so even if her shows get canceled, the fame-addicted Kate would likely “find a way to still be famous.”
